How-To: Artfully Undone Hair

❂❂❂

versace hair

Effortless – artfully undone hair. As seen on models day-off, runway and editorial – artfully undone hair may look effortless, but actually takes a bit of work.

To get that – “just rolled out of bed look” – texture is key. Frizz and flyaways are welcomed (for a change). Use products that will matte the hair for dry texture.

To get artfully undone hair – follow these simple steps:

1. Apply Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam to damp hair and roughly blow-dry with fingers, scrunching hair as you dry.

2. Twist hair up into a bun to set it and mist with Powder Refresh 01 aerosol hair powder/dry shampoo for texture.

3. Take hair out of the bun, spray more Powder Refresh 01 for added texture and a matte finish.

How To: Fierce Feline

⫷⫷⫷

fierce feline

Make a bold statement with a winged eye. This look can make eyes appear larger and more defined.

Product: I think liquid provides the most drama and the easiest control. Favorite: Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner  If you prefer a softer winged look try pencil or eyeshadow. Favorite: Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner-Gel Crayon

STEP 1

For easy application, set mirror at chin level and look downwards. Gently drag the liner along the lashline and past the top outer corner of your eye. Follow the upward curve of your eye with the eye liner. For a dramatic winged look, draw farther out and angle the liner more.

STEP 2

Create the winged effect by starting at the outer corner of the line you just drew and work back toward your eye. As you get closer to the inner lash line, draw a thinner line. You want the effect of the liner to be thin to thick from the inner corner of the eye to the outer.

STEP 3

Follow the natural shape of your eye and connect the liner to the inner corner of your eye. Fill in any missing spaces along the lash line.

How To: Crown Braid

⬓⬓⬓

crownbraid

Crown braids are effortlessly cool and chic for an easy summer styling. The best thing about the crown braid is that it works amazingly well for different occasions as they are extremely versatile. From the catwalks to celebrity style,  braids add a unique touch to everyday wear.

One of the best “how-to” videos I have found is from Free People. Always on trend and going a step further, the artists at Free People go a step further by adding colored dye to the classic crown style. Check out this how-to video to create a crown braid look of your own.

How To: Copper Eyes

⬗⬗⬗

copper eyeshadow

Copper eyeshadow can make a bold statement and intensify the natural color of your eyes. However, if not applied correctly can also make eyes look tired, bloodshot and/or red.

To avoid looking like Marla Singer in Fight Club, choose an accent color to blend with the copper. Whether your copper is shimmery or matte, a deep matte tone blendeded with the metallic shade will look more natural. Because the copper is so bright, it should be used as your primary color rather than pairing it with another bright color.

Needed:

How To:

  • Press eyeshadow brush into the Copper Eyeshadow. Tap the brush to remove any excess powder. Swipe the brush across the eyelid and blend up into the crease.
  • Blend eyeshadow until you are satisfied with the color and shape.
  • Using the Deep Natural Matte Eyeshadow, blend into the crease and outer “V” of the eye. Making this “V” area a little darker will make the eyes appear larger.
  • Run a clean blending brush over your eyelid, using a quick circular motion. This will get rid of any harsh lines.
  • Apply the Deep Natural Matte Eyeshadow under the eye. If you have small eyes, sweep eyeshadow from the middle of the eye to outer edge. For more drama, blend a tiny bit of the Copper Eyeshadow into the matte color. Do not use a lot or eyes will look red and “angry.”
  • Line eyes and apply lots of mascara.

Modify this look depending on your eyes shape and color.

How-To: Missoni SS13 Neon Coral Lip

❊❊❊

missoni

Nothing lights up the face like a bright lip. One of my favorite makeup looks from Spring/Summer 2013 was Missoni. This neon coral lip is electric and fresh.

Off the runway – try this look with a barely-there face. Just a little mascara and blush/bronzer is all that is needed.

The Look:

“Cosmic couture… Futuristic, aerodynamic, astral, light, beautiful and radiant.” – makeup artist Lucia Pieroni for MAC.

LIPS

1. Mix together MAC Pro Lipmix in Fuchsia, Orange and White for a strong, vivid coral and use the MAC 316 Lip Brush to apply perfectly over the lips, keeping the edges noticeably straight.

2. Apply MAC Pro Pigment in Red Electric with the MAC 217 Blending Brush to set and matte the Lipmix, and provide a neon finish to the lips.

TIP: If you don’t want to mess with a myriad of products – try Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids in Shocking Coral or Vibrant Mandarin (my 2 favorites). For a matte look – dust some translucent powder or bright matte blush on top.

How To: Headscarf

⚡⚡⚡

editorial head scarf

Headscarves have been a staple in fashion for decades, and it’s easy to see why. They protect hair, cover a variety of styling sins, look chic and are a great alternative to a hat.

One can create numerous styles with a single scarf: turban, bohemian, retro, rocker. Find your favorite look and add some flavor to your next ensemble.

Tying a headscarf requires practice and patience – it never seems to go right the first time. Follow these great diagrams to find your favorite style:

  • Headband Style – A simple style that can look sweet or bold. Fold square diagonally into a triangle. Roll scarf from long edge of triangle end towards the tip of the triangle so it becomes a long thick rectangular band. Flip hair upside and place center of band at forehead. Tie a square knot under hair at the top of the neck. Pull long edges of scarf from back of neck to hang in front. Vary the thickness and placement of the band for different looks.headscarf-tying-1
  • Retro Style – A glamorous style paired with big sunglasses. Fold square diagonally into a triangle. Place center of long edge of triangle just above hairline. Cross the ends of the scarf under chin. Bring ends around to back of neck loosely and tie together.headscarf-tying-2
  • Bohemian Style – Channel your inner-gypsy and pair with big voluminous beach hair.  Fold square diagonally into a triangle. Place center of long edge of triangle at middle of forehead. Bring edges of triangle around to back tightly and tie.headscarf-tying-3

How To: Fresh Face

◈◈◈

fresh face

A fresh face is always in style. Let your inner beauty shine by enhancing your already-beautiful features – not covering them up. Channel that glow-y radiance and opt for an au naturale, fresh face.

NEEDED:

◊ Your Makeup Bag

HOW TO:

PERFECT THE SKIN:

Wash face with your favorite gentle exfoliator. This will help the makeup to blend easily. FavoriteDermalogica Daily Microfoliant.

MOISTURIZE & EVEN OUT SKIN TONE:

Keep skin hydrated with a sheer moisturizer. Try one with light reflecting properties – for a healthy radiance. Favorite: Dr. Jart+ Renewalist Melting Cream

To even out skin tone, grab your favorite – Tinted Moisturizer, Foundation, BB Cream or Mineral Powder – and apply. Choosing the product that provides your favorite finish on the skin – matte, dewy, satin or natural – your choice. Favorite: Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint

Use a damp sponge to create a flawless finish. Favorite: Beauty Blender

CONCEAL FLAWS & HIGHLIGHT:

For visible breakouts and dark spots use a pigment-rich concealer. Dab, blend and build coverage in thin layers. Never use too much concealer, it will just accentuate problem areas. FavoriteMiracle Skin Transformer Treat & Conceal

Concealing under-circles will instantly light-up the entire face. If you have very dark undereye circles, first apply a salmon-toned color corrector. Favorite: Giorgio Armani Master Corrector

With a luminizing pen dot product under the eye and blend downwards. A luminizing pen brings light and radiance to the skin. It immediately erases any signs of fatigue, and brightens the complexion. This product can then be used as a highlighter on the cheekbones, brow bones and cupids bow. FavoriteYSL Touche Éclat

BRONZE & BLUSH:

Warm-up the skin with a light dusting of your favorite bronzer. Place only where the sun would naturally hit the skin. Temples, cheekbones, a little on the nose and under the jawline for contour. Favorite: Edward Bess Ultra Luminous Bronzer

Choose your favorite cream blush. Cream blushes in warm peaches and pinks gives skin a natural, subtle flush. Place on the apples of the cheeks and blend. Favorite: Illamasqua Cream Blusher in Petal Pink

POWDER:

If your skin gets shiny, follow with an oil-absorbing powder. Use only in the T-Zone area. This step can be skipped for those with dry or normal skin. Favorite: Laura Mercier Universal Setting Powder

If you find that you’ve over-powdered, take a tiny bit of light moisturizer, rub it between your palms, and then lightly press your palms onto your cheeks. This will bring back a bit of life to the skin.

BROWS:

Defined arches frame the face, pulling your features into focus. Make sure the brows are groomed and tweezed. Brush and fill them in sparingly with a brow pencil. Favorite: Anastasia Brow Wiz

EYES:

Apply a cream eyeshadow one shade lighter than lid color to the eyelid. Set with a matching eyeshadow and apply this eyeshadow to the inner corner of the eyes. This color can be matte or shimmer – your choice. Favorites: MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot & MAC Eyeshadow in Vanilla

Then apply a soft warm brown eyeshadow to the crease area to contour the eye. Using the same soft brown eyeshadow, apply along the lower lashes – blending to ensure no hard edges. This can also be done with your bronzer. Favorite: Urban Decay Single Eyeshadow in Naked

TIGHTLINE:

For extra definition, tightline the eyes with your favorite eyeliner, gel liner, or liquid liner. How-To Tightline Post: HERE.

To make eyes look brighter and wide-awake, apply a nude colored eyeliner to the bottom inner rim.  Favorite: Tarte emphasEYES Inner Rim Brightener

LASHES:

Defined lashes are essential, even for a no-makeup look, you can forfeit shadow and liner, but never mascara. Curl eye lashes and apply two coats of mascara to the top lashes. For an extra boost, use a flat eyeliner brush to grab a bit of mascara from the wand and apply to just the roots of the bottom lashes. Favorite: Fairy Drops Scandal Queen

LIPS:

To get a pretty “your lips but better” look – choose a lipstick, stain, balm or liner that matches your lips perfectly. Press the color into your lips with your fingertip rather than applying it directly from the bullet. Concentrate it in the center and blend out. Favorite: Fresh Sugar Passion Tinted Lip Treatment

How To: Heatless Styling

❂❂❂

heatless waves

Overexposing your hair to heat styling takes a big toll on the health of your hair. It dries out the hair cuticle and exacerbates breakage. Hot tools are great for quick-drying and quick-styling. If you are a hot tools addict, try taking one/two days-off per week to let hair air-dry naturally and/or try this heatless styling technique. Your hair will thank you later.

NEED:

❖ Duckbill Clips

❖ Spray Bottle for water

❖ Hairspray

Optional: Sea Salt Spray

HOW TO:

❖ Start with 2nd day hair.

❖ Grab a section of your hair. The larger the section the looser the wave.

❖ Wrap section of hair around two to three fingers and roll towards the scalp. Pin hair with small duckbill clips (bobby pins will leave a crease).

❖ Wrap the hair in the direction you want the curl to fall. Inward curls, outward curls or ‘S’ -shaped curls – alternating between both.

❖ When you have pin-curled the entire head. Spray water to dampen the curls – do not soak.

Fun Fact: In the 20’s pin-curls were also called “spit curls” because they used to spit on them instead of spraying water.

❖ Let your hair completely dry. If you want to do this at night and sleep on your curls, wrap a scarf around your head to prevent fall-out and frizz.

❖ Take out all the clips – carefully.

❖ Finger brush the curls and adjust.

❖ Spray with hairspray.

Options:

◆ Focus on where you pin the curls. I like to pin them just above the ear, leaving 2-3 inches from the top of my head.

◆ Try different methods of wrapping your hair to create a variety looks. For a simple wavy look – take extra big sections. For a more bohemian look – twist the hair and then pin-curl. For more texture – use a combination of water and sea salt spray.

How To: Old Hollywood Hair

❇❇❇

LAKEHAIR

Femme fatale Veronica Lake is best known for her classic and iconic hairstyle. The definition of old hollywood glamour, this look has been reinvented and updated throughout the years. Today this look is a bit more polished and modern, but the style remains the same. Recreate this classic and feminine hairstyle with a few easy steps:

NEED/RECOMMEND:

Curling Wand or Iron – Remington T-Studio London Edition Curling Wand

Clips – Hot Tools Metal Clips

Boar Bristle Brush – Denman D82L Boar Bristle Grooming Brush

Hairspray – Kenra Hairspray 25

Shine Serum – Kérastase Elixir Ultime Moringa Immortal

HOW TO:

♦ Start with clean, dry hair. A good blow-out will help add some volume.

♦ Create a side part. Attempt a drastic side-part for more drama.

♦ Starting just above the ear, curl hair in small, even sections – all in one direction – away from the face.

♦ After curling a single section, hold the curl – wrap around two fingers – then pin. Repeat.

♦ Once the curls have cooled, take pins out and brush hair with a boar bristle brush to loosen the curls.

♦ Spritz some hair spray on the brush, and continue brushing until all the waves fall together perfectly.

♦ Add some shine serum

Optional: Add a beautiful clip or bobby pins on one side accentuate the side-part.

How To: Lips & Lashes

❂❂❂

red lipHoliday parties are the perfect opportunity to take risks and add a little drama to your makeup look. My favorite festive look is sophisticated, classic and can be worn at any event. Lips & Lashes. By highlighting both of these features you will look instantly polished at any event this season.

LIPS: Prep your pout for mistletoe kisses. Go with classic red or a bold bordeaux. For those who are not used to wearing a bold lip, it’s time to get confident and try something new for your next holiday event.

For finding the best red for your skintone and how to apply the party-ready lip – check out these posts:

Four Favorites: Red Lipstick

How To: Perfect Red Lip

LASHES: If you have been wanting to experiment with false lashes, let this holiday season be your time to take the leap. Get fiercely flirty eyes in minutes using individual lashes.

Individual lashes are great for beginners. They look extremely natural, are comfortable to wear and easy to apply. Additionally, these lashes can also be placed wherever you need them. Add to the corners of the eyes for a bit of extra interest or to the center of the eye for an instant doe-like effect or all over for extra thickening and lengthening.

Individual false eyelashes come in two options: flares and singles. For a more dramatic look – try flares. I suggest getting them in small or medium (long… is really long). Flared lashes are available in two types: knotted and knot-free. Knotted have a knot at the top of the cluster to join the lashes. They provide extra surface area that make applying a little easier. However, knot-free look more natural.

NEED & RECOMMENDED:

♦ Lashes: Duralash Natural Knot-Free Medium Black

♦ Glue: Duo Eyelash Adhesive

♦ Tweezers: Tweezerman Slant

♦ Eyelash Curler: Kevyn Aucoin Beauty Eyelash Curler

♦ Mascara: Giorgio Armani ‘Eyes to Kill’ Mascara

HOW TO:

  1. Use tweezers to grasp the sprig of lashes as close to the base as possible.
  2. Place a dot of glue on a flat surface and dip the base of the sprig into the glue using a light touch.
  3. KEY TIP: Wait at least 10 seconds for the glue to get tacky before applying.
  4. Now, start on the outer corner and lay the lash behind your natural lash. Use a “picket-fence” approach when applying.
  5. Once the glue is dry, curl the lashes close to the base of your lashes, being careful not to press too hard. The faux lashes will curl much more than your natural lashes.
  6. Then, finish by applying mascara to “marry” the faux with your natural lashes.

How To: Subdued Sequins

⁕⁕⁕

Looking ahead to party season, nothing screams the holidays like a little sparkle. Incorporating sequins into your wardrobe can be troublesome. Too many times sequin pieces end up looking more Vegas Showgirl or Dancing with the Stars. The easiest way to wear sequins is to dress it down. With a little subtly, sequins can be both daytime and nighttime friendly.

The recipe is simple: Add one part sequin to one part casual wear. Weather you choose a sequin bottom or top, temper the pizzazz with a piece of casual wear.

Casual Wear: Tops: Tanks, Tees, Sweatshirts, Sweaters, Button-downs. Bottoms: Jeans, Cargo Pants, Leggings, Shorts.

Sequins is a great way to command attention at a holiday soiree. With the right layers and accessories, this look can work all year long.

How To: Curly Hair

⧓⧓⧓

I am one of those girls with naturally curly hair that constantly styles it straight. Even if I want the look of curly hair – I will use styling tools before committing to my curly birthright. Embracing your natural hair type will not only save time, but save the health of your hair as well.

My curls are not beautiful shiny, spiral tendrils – more like kinky/frizzy non-uniform curls that are impossible to control. Recently, I have decided to embrace my natural curls and experiment with products and techniques to make the impossible… possible. After many ditch efforts I finally found a regimen that transforms even the frizziest frock into luscious locks.

HOW TO:

‣‣‣ Apply mousse to towel dried hair, concentrating on the roots. This will add volume and definition. Favorite: Kenra Glaze Mousse 13

‣‣‣ Next add a styling cream. FavoriteKenra Curl Defining Cream 5. This will separate and define curls – leaving them shiny and frizz-free.

‣‣‣ A simple hairdryer is not compatible with curly hair because its nozzle directs too much air at each curl, deflating it’s volume and shape. A diffuser attachment provides a steady source of heat without the pressure of a standard nozzle. Each curl will remain formed and maintain its natural body. FavoriteElchim Cocoon Bi-Diffuser

‣‣‣ While diffusing hair, scrunch and twist random sections around finger to “assist” the shape.

‣‣‣ Add a bit of styling cream to dry curls for additional definition and shine.

‣‣‣ Next day curls can drop and/or vanish – try using a curl spray to “activate” curls back to life. Favorite: Kenra Curl Spray 8

TIPS:

• Curly hair has strong disulphide bonds because of the natural structure of the hair proteins, with which a person with curly hair is born. All hair, however, curly or not, has hydrogen bonds, which are not strong enough alone to draw the hair into a curl. But once you “break” them by wetting your hair, you can “train” them to act like disulphide bonds with heat, at least temporarily.

• Curly hair should never be brushed. On wet hair a brush may tear or stretch fragile strands and on dry hair it will separate and diffuse the curls, thus creating frizz.

• Avoid over-handling curly hair. If you touch curls as they dry you will disturb their natural pattern and create unwanted volume and frizz.

How To: Nude Lip

❈❈❈

Originally applied to downplay the rest of the face when having a dramatic smoky eye or a major blush moment, the nude lip has transcended from a trend to a classic.

Your perfect nude lip will depend entirely on the shade. Remember nude is not the same as neutral, you must take into consideration your skin tone and lip color. The right color will create depth and contour as the wrong color can make the entire face look dull or washed-out.

Choosing a color for your skin tone:

  • For fair or pale skin: Avoid beige tones. Opt for soft pinks, peaches or pale apricot as your base shade.
  • For the golden girls: Creamy, caramel-toned nudes and warm beiges. Avoid anything too cool, like grays or silver-toned shades.
  • For olive tones: Just about any nude shade will work, from beige to bronze to pinks.
  • For skin with yellow undertones: Light, creamy-toned beiges like latte or mocha.
  • For dark-toned skin: Go for chocolate tones such as rich golden browns and coffees.

Needed:

  • Foundation
  • Nude Lip Liner – Favorite: Here
  • Lip Brush
  • Nude Lipstick – Favorite: Here
  • Nude Lipgloss – Favorite: Here

How To:

  • Prep and moisturize the lips.
  • Blot a layer of foundation onto the lips. This will let lipstick perform at it’s truest color.
  • Define lips with a liner that is the half-a-shade deeper than lipstick. This will give the illusion of plumper lips.
  • Using a lip brush, apply lipstick.
  • Blot the lips with tissue and reapply.
  • If a glossy finish is preferred – apply nude lipgloss.

Q&A: Jouer National Makeup Stylist – Neil Scibelli

❖❖❖

Yin and Yang, “shadow and light”, is an ancient Chinese philosophy used to describe how polar opposites or seemingly contrary forces are interconnected. Jouer Cosmetics has found this balance with two exceptional and  exceptionally different products, Luminizing Moisture Tint and Matte Moisture Tint.

Jouer’s best-selling Luminizing Moisture Tint contains light-diffusing minerals that give skin a soft, healthy glow. This product is formulated with powerful antioxidants like ginseng and ginko biloba leaf extract to improve the skin and SPF 20 to protect it. Jouer’s Luminizing Moisture Tint provides the perfect amount of “glow.” Sometimes products that claim a “luminizing” or “dewy” finish, just end up making you look sweaty. This product perfects the look of healthy skin.

Allure recently gave Luminizing Moisture Tint it’s coveted “Best in Beauty” seal.

The counter part to a glowing complexion is found with Jouer’s new Matte Moisture Tint. This is the first matte-formula I have used that does not make my face flat. The lightweight formula blurs imperfections, moisturizes the skin and provides a velvety, soft focus finish – that looks amazing on the skin. Enriched with Vitamins A, C and E, this formula delivers rich antioxidants to the skin. The oil-free formula absorbs oil and reduces shine throughout the day.

As a special treat, Jouer’s National Makeup Stylist – Neil Scibelli has provided all the answers needed on using, applying and selecting cream-based products.

Jouer National Makeup Stylist, Neil Scibelli, for Glow-T.com

Q: What are the benefits of using cream-based products?

A: Cream based products have the ability to leave a more dewy finish to the skin. A lot of cream based products have built in moisturizers, so I recommend them to women with dry skin.

Q: Can all skin-types use them?

A: Yes, all skin types can use cream based products. There are different categories of cream products, so choosing the right one for your skin type is key.

Q: How to pick the right colors for your skin tone?

A: I usually test a small amount of product on the lower jaw line area- to match the skin tone. I like matching the neck color.

Q: Should you use fingers or brushes to apply these products? If brushes…what are the best to use?

A: Fingers are a user-friendly way to apply cream products (like a tinted moisturizer), for those who are on the go.  From a makeup artist standpoint, I recommend using a foundation brush for applying cream products; it creates a more even, flawless finish.

Q: How to apply?

A: I put a dime size amount on the top part of my hand, and dip into it with a foundation brush to apply. This way, you have control as to how much your picking up with your brush. You don’t want to end up with too much product directly on your face, so its a good way to build your coverage up. Apply from the center, moving the product outward.

Q: Any tips or tricks?

A: To prevent a cream product from looking streaky, I recommend patting the formula into the skin. It ensures coverage, without moving the product around too much.

Q: How to make cream-based products last?

A: You can set it with a translucent powder, to lock the product in place. This helps with setting the product, and also absorbs shine in the t-zone area.

Q: Favorite cream-based products?

A: Allure’s award winning product from Jouer Cosmetics, Luminizing Moisture Tint. For a more oily skin type, try the new Matte Moisture Tint also by Jouer. They leave the most incredible natural glow to the skin. They’re both oil-free and ideal for daily wear.

How To: Hair Loop

⚭⚭⚭

Reinvent the everyday top knot or bun with the ‘hair loop’. Walking the runways at Fashion Week (picture: Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2012), the ‘hair loop’ is a simple style that is pretty and polished with an unfinished edge.

→ This look can be done with straight, wavy or curly hair. Prep hair with a styling cream for hold.

TRY: It’s a 10 Miracle Styling Cream

→ Gather hair into a ponytail at the back of the head. Secure with elastic.

→ Flip the pony and clip the hair right above the elastic. Hair should be sticking straight up.

→ Fold hair back and use another clip around the base of the head.

TRY: Goody Metal Barrettes

→ Spritz the loop with hair spray and pull out random pieces for a slightly undone look.

TRY: Enjoy Hair Spray

FINISH: Play with hair accessories! A headband would work great with this look, or try-on an obnoxious, statement barrette. Have fun with everyday hairstyles. Make it your own.

How To: The Bend

♁♁♁

Perfectly – un-perfect hair is the only way to describe The Bend. Messy… “this is what I look like when I wake up” hair, that appears effortless, but takes a little work.

This look can be done simply with a flat iron, however, flat iron waves are tricky to master and never look uniform. The following technique is easy and controllable.

NEEDED:

‣ Styling Cream

‣ Heat Protectant

‣ 1 – 1.5 inch Curling Iron

‣ Flat Iron

‣ Texturizing Spray or Hair Spray

HOW TO:

‣ On second day hair, apply a styling cream to add some grip to the hair. TRY: Rusk Being Sexy Cream

‣ Next apply some sort of heat protectant to the hair; spray/oil/cream. TRY: Rusk Being Sexy Argan Oil

‣ With the curling iron, begin curling 3 inches down from the roots. Haphazardly curl entire head rotating the iron inward than outward. Don’t worry too much about shape of the curl – it will be fixed in a moment.

‣ Once hair is curled and cooled, take flat iron and straighten the ends of the all curls – at least 2 inches from bottom.

‣ If happy with the results, no need to go any further. If, however, some of the curls are “too curly/prom curls” – run the flat iron gently over them. This will remove the curly-ness and result in The Bend.

‣ Finish off the hair with a texturizing spray or hair spray. TRY: Oribe Après Beach Wave and Shine Spray.

OPTION:

The model in the picture is wearing extensions. This look is easier to achieve with some length. If you want to add some extensions, try these: SKR Hair. In a set of SKR Extensions you will receive ten wefts. One of the wefts in the set is an ingenious Quad Weft (4 strips of hair sewn-on to one strip). This piece can be worn with the other wefts or on it’s own. It is extremely comfortable and instantly adds length, volume and body.

How To: Glowing Skin

◍◍◍

Glowing skin is as easy as 1./2./3. For a special occasion or just to pamper yourself try these steps to achieve glowing, healthy skin.

1. Dry Brush: Rejuvenates, invigorates and rids the skin of accumulated toxins. Brushing the skin helps unclog pores, increase it’s ability to absorb nutrients, increase circulation to the skin cells resulting in a better metabolic cellular exchange and correct problem areas like cellulite. Healthy skin needs to breathe. Rid it regularly of dry skin cells and the body will react by producing new skin cells more rapidly. Your skin will immediately loose that dry, pasty appearance and feel silky smooth.

▶ Starting at your feet, brush in small circular motions. All skin brushing movements should be focused towards the heart, this will encourage blood circulation and lymphatic flow. Apply very light pressure in areas where skin is thin to avoid broken skin, rashes, or irritation.

2. Sea Salt Scrub: Sea salt, derived from evaporated seawater, is chock full of minerals and nutrients beneficial to the skin: magnesium, potassium, calcium chloride, sodium and bromide. These nutrients activate the circulatory system, nourish the skin, soothe the nerves and decrease arthritic discomfort. A good sea salt scrub can breathe new life into tired dull skin.

▶ Gently massage the salt scrub into the skin. Again, start from the feet and work towards the heart. Let the scrub rest on your skin for a few seconds to all allow all oils to absorb in the skin. If you can tolerate it, alternate between warm and cool water to really boost circulation – always ending with the cool water.

How-To: Ombré Hair

The word Ombré is French for shading or graduating. Hair stylists have coined this terminology to describe a color technique used in salons. Ombré hair can range from a subtle and natural effect to really dramatic and edgy. For a natural “end-of-the-summer” look, color should blend from dark to light with no harsh transition line.

Ombré hair is great for many reasons: it’s highly economical, incredibly low maintenance, and works with any texture or tone.

Almost always, bleach is the key ingredient to create the ombré effect. This is the reason one should go to a professional. Find a stylist that specializes-in or has created this look before.

Ask your stylist for lots of beachy highlights concentrated on the ends, no higher than your chin in most places. Frame your face with a few subtle pieces that are only a shade or two lighter than your natural color and then go as light as you want on the ends. To maintain the look, use a color-safe shampoo and a moisturizing conditioner. Light ends can dry out, so use a nourishing protective oil from your chin down. Try these: Enjoy Haircare.

Love the ombré look but afraid to commit? Here is your solution…

‣ Purchase a set of hair extensions – Try these: Milani Hair Extensions

‣ Choose the color you want your ends to be – not the color of your hair. When coloring hair extensions – always dye dark, never light (bleach).

‣ Choose an at-home box color that matches your roots.

‣ Dye the tops of the extensions to blend with your hair.

‣ Clip-in and go. Ombré Hair
