How To: Fierce Feline

⫷⫷⫷

fierce feline

Make a bold statement with a winged eye. This look can make eyes appear larger and more defined.

Product: I think liquid provides the most drama and the easiest control. Favorite: Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner  If you prefer a softer winged look try pencil or eyeshadow. Favorite: Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner-Gel Crayon

STEP 1

For easy application, set mirror at chin level and look downwards. Gently drag the liner along the lashline and past the top outer corner of your eye. Follow the upward curve of your eye with the eye liner. For a dramatic winged look, draw farther out and angle the liner more.

STEP 2

Create the winged effect by starting at the outer corner of the line you just drew and work back toward your eye. As you get closer to the inner lash line, draw a thinner line. You want the effect of the liner to be thin to thick from the inner corner of the eye to the outer.

STEP 3

Follow the natural shape of your eye and connect the liner to the inner corner of your eye. Fill in any missing spaces along the lash line.

Drugstore Find: Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal in Barely Branded

Maybelline’s Color Tatoos are a fantastic drugstore find. These cream eyeshadows last just as long as any other more expensive version and are just as vibrant and pigmented. Constantly creating new colors and finishes, my current favorite is  Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal in Barely Branded.

Barely Branded is a warm champagne tone with a metallic/frosted finish. A great dupe/alternative to MAC Bare Study Paint Pot (one of my favorites). A very versatile shade, Barely Branded can be warn on it’s own or as a base to brighten and make shadow stay-put. It has a wonderful creamy consistency that is great for quick and easy application and does not crease or fade, hour after hour.

For a great basic cream shadow that is easily accesible and inexpensive try Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal in Barely Branded.

GLOW-T AWARDS: Kerstin Florian Sunless Tan

☼☼☼

BEST MOISTURIZING SELF-TANNER: Kerstin Florian Sunless Tan

Kerstin Florian Sunless Tan is an innovative product that provides easy application, natural color, consistency, moisture and a pleasant aroma.

The uber moisturizing formula is enriched with Sweet Almond Oil and Shea Butter to deeply hydrate and smooth the skin for a radiant, streak-free appearance. Ginko Biloba and Echinacea extracts help to condition the skin, fight free radicals and promote healthy cell regeneration.

The active ingredient in most self-tanners is dihydroxyacetone (DHA), which reacts with the outer layer of the skin to create a bronzed tone. Kerstin Florian Sunless Tan uses a natural sunless tanning ingredient derived from a vegetable source. It reacts with amino acids in the top layer of the skin to produce the golden appearance.

Selected by SELF Magazine as the “Best New Self-Tanning Product of the Year,” Kerstin Florian Sunless Tan is thick and creamy and smells subtly like a bouquet of flowers. The initial color is light but builds to a beautiful sun-kissed glow. It feels very lux on the skin and feels and smells like a spa treatment.

Holy Grail: Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Mascara

✯✯✯

Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Mascara is currently the best mascara I have ever used. Coming from a lunatic that has tested every imaginable mascara, this says a lot. As seen in Glow-T’s Best of 2011 post – I wanted to wait until I thoroughly tested this product to give an honest review.

Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Mascara is all of your favorite lengthening/separating/volumizing mascaras rolled into one. The formula is smooth, weightless and incredibly pigmented. One coat is all that is needed for full/thick lashes, however, the build-able formula is capable of overly dramatic lashes without clumping (statement based on two thick coats). The wand’s handle is weighted, giving support for easy application. The brush is nothing special and on the larger size, but delivers intensely thick, black lashes.

The only criticism I have is the price. A $30 dollar mascara is hard to swallow with so many cheaper products on the market. In consideration, I purchased this mascara in the beginning of November and it is still going strong; no traces of dryness or emptiness.

Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Mascara is currently on my holy grail list. At this point, you would think I would never need to acknowledge another mascara again… You would think…

Tried & Tested: Xen-Tan Dark Lotion

Xen-Tan Dark Lotion

✯✯✯

When purchasing a Self-Tanning Product I have 3 MUST HAVES:

1. NO SMELL

2. NO ORANGE TINT

3.  MUST FADE GRACEFULLY

Other brands tried: St.Tropez/KateSomerville/Clarins/Lancome/ModelCo/Fusion Beauty/Sevin Nyne/Neutrogena/Loreal/Jergens…

Xen-Tan is the answer to my prayers.

The process, although a little daunting, totally worth it! Plaster all over body – wait for 3 hours – wash off. Unlike most self-tanners you don’t have to be “as” precise with the application. The lotion is tinted which makes application tractable and the best part is the fragrance – a bouquet of almonds and vanilla!

After 3 hours…

The first thing I noticed was the color… a perfect olive/brown-based tan.The second thing I noticed was that my skin felt extremely hydrated.  The third thing I noticed was that the tan was perfectly even – no streaks!

So I threw on my new Current/Elliott cutoffs and walked out the door. (No color deposits on clothes)

The reason I will continue to purchase:  a couple of days later – still a nice subtle glow and Xen-Tan seemed to just fade away like magic…

Ahhhh-Mazing!
