Crowning Collaboration: Isabel Marant for H&M
⫴⫴⫴
H&M will team up with Isabel Marant for its latest design collaboration. The collection of must-have clothing and accessories inspired by Marant’s signature laid-back Parisian style will be available in 250 stores worldwide as well as online November 14 – and there will be menswear too, which will mark Marant’s first foray into catering for men.
“I am flattered by this collaboration: H&M works with the best designers and this invitation is an exciting honour,” Marant said this morning. “I aim to create something real, that women want to wear in their everyday lives, with a certain carelessness, which I think is very Parisian: you dress up, but do not pay too much attention and still look sexy. The collection is infused with this kind of easiness and attitude. Everything can be mixed following one’s own instincts: my take on fashion is all about personality.”
Let’s just hope it doesn’t sell out before we can get our hands on it…
Unrequited Love: Tassel Jewelry
⌘⌘⌘
A more playful take on statement jewelry has been popping up in the form of swingy tassel earrings, bracelets and necklaces. The global-inspired look is available in a multitude of colors, lengths and styles. From colorful bracelets and shoulder-grazing danglers to simple rope pendants, finding a piece of tassel jewelry to fit your style and budget is a cinch. Here are a few favorites.

Currently Coveting: Isabel Marant Linda Studded Leather Shoulder Bag
Inspired by Elvis, the Linda bag is embellished in multicolored studs, grommets and Swarovski crystals. Designed in leather and suede, this bag is beautifully structured and keeps with Marant’s western cowgirl theme from SS13 runway. Not to mention… my perfect summer bag.
Four Favorites: Wedge Sneakers
❊❊❊
Women everywhere are abandoning their heels and platforms for wedge sneakers. To be perfectly honest, I was not a fan of this trend when it began – it reminded me of high school girls basketball. However, if you have a chance – try them on. Not only are they extremely comfortable, but incredibly flattering. The concealed wedge lengthens your legs and gives the figure a ‘lift’.
The pair I tried on were the OG’s – Isabel Marant’s Bekkett. Marant attributes the design to her teenage years when she would put a cork sole in her trainers. “I wanted to keep the comfort of a sneaker while looking taker at the same time,” she says. Since Bekkett’s introduction three years ago, it’s not uncommon for the shoes to be sold out before they could even hit shelves. Now slews of wedged sneakers have now emerged from big names like Marc by Marc Jacobs, Chloé, and Stella McCartney to Sketchers, Steve Madden and even Nike; further propelling the trend of lux street fashion.
Here are a few of my favorites:
Isabel Marant ~ Bekkett: $640.00
Ash ~ Bea: $235.00
BDG ~ Quarter-Strap High-Top Wedge Sneaker: $79.00
Report ~ Cosette: $69.95
Currently Coveting: Vince Leather Jogging Pants
✫✫✫
Jogging down the runways of Alexander Wang, Isabel Marant and Michael Kors, the jogging pant is a sporty and comfortable alternative from everyday denim or leggings. Evolving from jersey, the jogger can be found in silk, satin, wool and/or leather.
The jogging pants trend introduces a new hybrid of sweatpants and haram pants. The slouchy, relaxed fit and tapered leg is very figure-friendly. A great pant to dress up, the jogger yearns for your highest, high-heel. Keep the rest casual for a perfectly chic ensemble.
I am currently coveting the Vince Leather Jogging Pants. Sporty-style with some edge.
